Lincoln Highway

The Lincoln Highway Wrestling Club is a USA mat club formed by Chambersburg Wrestling enthusiasts along with the support of the Chambersburg Wrestling Booster Club.

The intent of the Lincoln Highway Wrestling Club is to improve wrestling in the Chambersburg Area at all levels. Currently USA mat club members enjoying the benefits of the Lincoln Highway Wrestling Club come from the youth level (K-6 grades), the Middle School level (7-9 grades), and the High School level (9-12 grade).

Practices are held in the wrestling room at the Chambersburg High School.

The Lincoln Highway Wrestling Club is coached by Coach Matt Mentzer and assisted by Coach Kochinski. Coach Mentzer has an uncommon grasp of wrestling and an ability to adapt it to individual wrestlers. While wrestling in High School, Coach Mentzer compiled a record of 100-17-1. He also wrestled at Shippensburg University where he compiled 86 wins and he was a two-time All-American. Coach Mentzer then followed his illustrious college-wrestling career with a stint as a college coach. He was the assistant coach at Shippensburg University from 1997-2001. While there, he coached three All-Americans. In previous High School coaching experiences, Coach Mentzer had the opportunity to coach two State Champions and four State place-winners.
